Stress buster

A self -massage to relieve stress was told to me some years ago and is as follows:
1. Rub your hands together to generate warmth. You can take a couple of deep breaths while you do this to accelerate the process.
2. Turn up the corners of your mouth in a slight "inner smile". This helps to relieve stress and release the flow of energy in your body.
3. Using your right hand, "wrap" your fist around the thumb of your left hand andbegin to massage it. Pay particular attention to the sides and the area on top,just below the nail.
4. Continue with each finger, taking as much time as you want. When you finish,reverse the process and use your left hand to massage the thumb and fingers of your right hand.

According to most Taoist texts, the pressure points of each finger correspond to specific emotions as follows:
Thumb - Worry
Index Finger - Sadness
Middle Finger - Impatience
Ring Finger - Anger
Little Finger - Fear

If you find yourself uncomfortable while experiencing one of these emotions, you can gain immediate relief by "wrapping" and massaging the relevant finger.
